Liga Portugal president Reinaldo Teixeira has dismissed the notion of an internal conflict between FC Porto and Benfica. He emphasized a constructive and cooperative mood among clubs, focusing on collective improvement rather than division.

"I do not see guerrilla inside our house," said Reinaldo Teixeira. The league president explained that in meetings, he senses a committed and positive contribution from the clubs. "Within the sports societies, what I have always seen was a positive contribution, constructive argumentation and a cooperative attitude focused on the good of football," he added.

Teixeira stressed that championship decisions rest with players, coaches and referees, while the league's role is to improve pitches and infrastructure, with interventions already made on more than 24 pitches. He also pointed to the ongoing work to centralize audiovisual rights, a process requiring robust regulation where clubs are committed to finding a solution.

The sporting context shows FC Porto's strong position. The team sits top of the Primeira Liga with 21 points from a perfect seven wins, holding a five point lead over Benfica. The last derby, played on 20 September, ended in a 3-1 home victory with goals from Gabri Veiga, Victor Froholdt and Hwang In-Beom. The next fixture is away to Marítimo on 10 October.
