Four FC Porto players have stepped up their injury recovery by moving to conditioned training on the pitch at Olival. João Costa, Nehuén Pérez, Seko Fofana and Gabri Veiga progressed from gym work to on-field exercises, though they remain separate from the main group.
The quartet continue to have limitations, but their progress is a positive development for the club's medical report. Martim Fernandes, Zaidu, Vasco Sousa and André Miranda are the other injured first-team players, also undergoing conditioned training.
The B team trained together with the senior side again, but several of their players remain unavailable. Martim Chelmik, André Oliveira and Mame Niang are in treatment, while Brayan Caicedo is training under conditions.
Manager Francesco Farioli is still without ten professional squad players who are away on international duty. Diogo Costa, Jan Bednarek, Jakub Kiwior and Oskar Pietuszewski (Poland), Victor Froholdt (Denmark), Inbeom Hwang (South Korea), Pablo Rosario (Dominican Republic), Santiago Gimenez (Mexico), João Afonso (Portugal U21) and Dominik Prpic (Croatia U21) are the absentees.
FC Porto, who top the Primeira Liga with 21 points from seven games, now prepare for their final rehearsal ahead of a friendly against Deportivo de La Coruña, scheduled for Friday at Riazor. The squad trains again tomorrow morning at Olival. Their next competitive fixture is away to Marítimo on October 10th.
