FC Porto retains the most valuable squad in the Portuguese league, with its market value rising to €470.5 million. The data was confirmed this week by the player valuation platform Transfermarkt.

"FC Porto remains the squad with the highest market value in the league, after rising from €464.8 million to €470.5 million," the company said. The increase of €5.7 million solidifies the club's position ahead of its direct rivals.

Benfica made a significant jump, rising from €374.05 million to €422 million, overtaking Sporting, who are now valued at €413.7 million. Striker Victor Froholdt, with a valuation of €50 million, is currently the most valuable player in the competition, ahead of Gianluca Prestianni and Andreas Schjelderup, both valued at €40 million. Some players, including Samu, Gonçalo Inácio and Trubin, saw their values drop by five million euros each.

This market value snapshot comes as Porto sit top of the Primeira Liga with 21 points from a perfect seven wins. The Dragons won the last derby 3-1 at the Estádio do Dragão on September 20 and now prepare to face Marítimo away in the next round.
