Miguel Nogueira will referee Porto vs Benfica for the second season in a row. The Portuguese Football Federation has appointed the 32-year-old official for the 7th round derby, to be played next Sunday at the Estádio do Dragão.

Nogueira, from the Lisbon Football Association, took charge of last season's meeting between the rivals at the same stadium, which ended goalless. That same season, he also officiated Porto's 2-1 win away at Sporting. This campaign, he has refereed five matches, including Porto's 3-0 victory over Académico Viseu.

The officiating team for the derby will be completed by assistant referees Paulo Brás and Nuno Pires, with Fábio Melo as the fourth official. Luís Ferreira and João Bessa Silva will be the VAR officials.

Porto host Benfica as the outright league leaders, with 18 points from six games, two points clear of their rivals. The Dragons come into the derby in impressive recent form, having scored 11 goals in their last 180 minutes of league football. The last meeting between the sides, in March, ended in a 2-2 draw. Sérgio Conceição's team prepares for a key moment in the title race, with the derby the next fixture on the schedule.
