FC Porto is being linked to Spanish young defender Jorge Salinas, who won the Spanish second division with Racing Santander. The Portuguese club is not the only one interested in the player, who has a 16 million euro release clause. According to AS, the 19-year-old left-back, 1.83 meters tall, may become the most expensive sale in Racing's history - 14 million euros is the current record - but only if the club's requirements are met. As O JOGO found out, however, it is not part of the plans of the dragons for 2025/26. At the moment, the Santander emblem already considers that Salinas' clause is set at 16 million euros, a value that doubled with the promotion to LaLiga. However, the 2026/27 season only officially begins on July 1, so until then, Racing is still considered a second division club, with Salinas' clause remaining, according to this logic, at 8 million euros. Another possible interpretation is the fact that the player is registered with the Spanish Football Federation as a member of the Racing youth team, which, for some, means that his release clause is even lower: 4 million euros. Meanwhile, in addition to FC Porto, AS refers that Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Bolonha and Newcastle - and possibly PSG - are other clubs interested in Salinas, who is represented by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes. Also, Saudi Arabia was on the horizon of the player last year.
